Afternoon in the country

Last Sunday, my pals Lucy and Calie and I loaded up in the car with the humans for a drive to the country to meet some new friends! We drove for what seemed like forever to a pup stuck in the back of a hatchback. But it was worth it. We went to visit mom's coworkers new collie, Shaughnessy and his (new to him) sister, Cassandra (also a collie). They live on a lot of land and I got to run, run and run some more and I got really dirty and full of stick-tights. The ground was wet and I love to splish-splash around in it. My mom forgot the camera, otherwise I am sure there would be a picture of me with my pals to go with this post. Cassandra was great fun to play with and I do love the country. Here's a photo of Cassandra (left) and Shaughnessy (right). Their mom, Lisa, took the photo.

All paws for new toys

This is one of my new toys. It is made from a sleeve of a felted wool sweater and there is a rubber ball with a bell on the inside of it. The jingling drives me crazy.

2010

Awhile ago, I posted on here about my photo being chosen to be in the Lawrence Humane Society's calendar. Finally, I got to see it! It's pretty sweet to get into it when I was up against hamsters, rabbits, kitty cats and other dogs. That's tough competition!

I'm famous!

I'm on a shirt! Doesn't my butt look cute?! Lucy's mom, Danae, gave it to my mom to wear. The drawing is by a famous artist by the name of Chris Millspaugh.

Begging for cookies

Cookies for doggies!

My mom made these for me and I love them so much that I wanted to share them in case your people might be interested in making them for you. And then you can invite me over for a taste. Woof!

Dog cookie recipe:

2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup reg flour
1/4 cup cornmeal
1/4 cup quick oats
1-1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 Tbs veg oil
2 eggs
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup skim milk
2 Tbs cold water

Combine flour, cornmeal, oats and garlic powder.
In a separate bowl mix oil, eggs, molasses, milk and water.
Make a well in the flour mixture and gradually stir in egg mixture until well blended.
Divide dough into 2 so it is easier to work with.
Roll into 1/2" thick with rolling pin.
Cut with cookie cutter and place on baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.
Bake at 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Turn oven off and leave biscuits in oven to harden for 1 hour.
Cool and store at room temp.

Rowan got a keyboard for Christmas and she and I both like the case it came in a lot. It's so comfortable.

Dreaming

Next Christmas, I think I might just want a cardboard box. Maybe. I'll think about it a bit more.

Tunnelling in the vacuum box

My family had to get a new vacuum {probably because of me} and knew exactly what to do with that box!
