I'm 63 years young in human years today or 9 years in dog years. Today I got to go to the dog park and play in the yard. I got a squeaky ball and a whole carrot! And I fully intend to hog the bed again tonight.

This is me, looking dapper as I cruise around. All that is missing is a bowtie.

I don't get worried about Mom when she climbs at all. However, if my butt gets cold, I will go to extreme measures to remedy the situation.

Today, you gave me the scare of a lifetime when you thought I was on the 4-wheeler and sprinted off after it towards the corner where the highway meets the gravel road. This is the place numerous pups before you came to their demise. I'm so thankful you managed to hear me with your radar ears, screaming your name as I sprinted after you. I don't know how you heard me, but I'm so glad you did. You deserved this dip in the pond afterwards. -your Mom.

Mom put on my shoes and new raincoat and I immediately turned to stone. I thought we were playing that statue game where you have to hold really still.

Well, maybe I'm not ready. This garb is weird.

At least mom didn’t get the raincoat that had a hood on it. That really would have bothered me.

Happy 8th Birthday!

Today is my EIGHTH birthday! I got a cool present too. My mom is sad I am already 8 years old. If she could turn back time, I'm sure she would. I remember the first walk on a leash 8 years ago at our old house. I didn't know what cars were and they were terrifying. I'm hoping for a carrot treat today! Anyway, here is a video of me opening my present.

At 8 years:
• I put myself to bed before my parents a lot of nights a week
• I love to sleep on a variety of surfaces other than the floor
• Car rides are the best
• I know my own way to the pet store (not that I have had a chance to go there on my own)
• I like food more than I did when I was one
• I sniff more than I run when we go out on early a.m. runs
• I LOVE the mud hole on the levee trail
• Squeaky balls are still the best
• I still have not had to have my teeth professionally cleaned thanks to that awful toothpaste mom uses on me

Here I am with my fam! Once every few years they (the fam) get it in their heads that I want to visit Santa so I can request my special squeaky balls. Happy Halloween!

Hey Hey! My little buddy Dougie came over yesterday. Or at least I think it was him. He was dressed as a sushi and he smelled like salami. Mom said something about it being Halloween, but I don’t wear clothes or costumes so I don’t know. There was a bowl with cookies in it though! Dougie and I got treats for tricks so I was happy.

I turned SEVEN today and I am proud to say I have not a gray hair on my head yet and no, my mom does NOT dye my facial hair. She does attack me regularly with scissors to trim errant hairs, but she does not use dye on me. I have always been a good boy, but I must say, I am really blossoming into the middle-aged years. I refuse to call myself older than that and I know my mom shares the same sentiment.  

Today, we went on a special birthday run early in the morning and my mom let me have a few extra long sniffs at various points along the way. We also skated across an icy patch in the street and I did so ever so eloquently without falling as you might imagine an old man dog would do. Then we got to go to the pet store and have some sniffs and a TREAT! Wahoo for birthdays!

Hey everyone! It’s fall in Kansas and my landlords are stingy with the heat. But the faces on this blanket are frightening so I just could not move. I don’t know what the obsession over zombies (Oops! I said the Zed word) is about, but I am TERRIFIED by them.

Kanapolis Lake

Kanapolis Lake is quite fun. Especially in a wet year. I went swimming lots of times and slipped off a beaver dam. When the tent blew over, I was done. Ready to go home.

My favorite balls are on sale! My mom ordered me some new ones as mine have all been placed somewhere special or eaten up by yours truly. They arrived today and I knew immediately what was in the box!
