Waiting again for Millie

I get so anxious when I know Millie is coming over to play. She is a
lot of fun. I waited here for 15 minutes!

Spring was here

And then it wasn't because it snowed 6 inches on the first day of spring.

p.s.
Please accept my sincere apologies for the several days delay in postings. My intestines were out of sorts. Or my pee and poop got mixed up inside my body. Something was up, but I think that's over now. Plain rice and yogurt and bland canned chicken can do wonders. I think the chicken is wonderful, but my mom almost lost her waffles when she dished it up for me.

Fun and Games

This week I finished up another class with the Lawrence Jayhawk Kennel Club, called Fun and Games. It was a fun class. We learned to to a lot of tricks that are useful to our humans and were exposed to basic, basic agility stuff. On the last night of class we each had to do a trick. I did rollover on the concrete floor and everyone cheered. One classmate retrieved his owner's slippers and another trimmed his own nails on sandpaper board and another stood and sat on a step stool. All of it was pretty cool. Then we played a final game called lily pads (actually carpet squares). Each dog/owner had to go to each lily pad and pick up a small slip of paper with a number on it. The dog had to sit and stay at each lily pad while the owner was getting the number. I'm a quick sitter so we were done in a jiffy even though we didn't know it was a race. WE WON with a time of 2 minutes and 36 seconds. What a way to finish a class! Up next on the class schedule is Intermediate 1 agility at Triune Canine Training Center.

And the secret is. . .

Sit really nicely beside their bed at 2a.m. and FLAP YOUR EARS! Keep flapping until someone says okay allowing you on the bed. It works every time. :)

Long eared ransom

Dear long eared blog followers,

Are you having trouble getting your owners to let you sleep in their bed
with them at night? I have a tip for you. There is just one little hitch. There always is.
Please send 5 milk bones to me and then I'll tell you my secret.

Love,
Zig

Name game

Before I arrived, my mom asked her coworkers to help choose a name for me. I already had a name, but she wanted to choose a new one. Radar was my name initially because I had the best ears in my litter or I was the most alert. I always heard when the humans were moving around so my breeder called me Radar. As you may have guessed the name chosen was Zig, but I could have been a Roy or a Skittles.

A year ago and a few days

A year ago and a few days, my breeder met my Dad in Eau Claire, MN at a McDonald's of all places to get me. I was 12 weeks old. In Kansas, my new mom and new sis were anxious for me to arrive. As soon as we got in the car (my dad and I), I started barking. It was a loud shrieking bark and I carried on for 30 minutes before I tired out. My dad had second thoughts about the decision to get a dog. We arrived in Kansas at 12 a.m. that Friday night after lots of potty breaks and I was terrified when my mom opened the car door to say hello to me. I even growled at her and wet my kennel in horror. I barked a lot that night too. Here are some pictures of me from my first days in Kansas. I wonder if my puppy siblings would remember me if we were to meet again. It has been so long since we've seen each other.
